Gloves are my life. Will they be yours?
My name is Ludmila Osičková and I have devoted a considerable part of my life to gloves. In 1992, I successfully completed a four-year degree in leather manufacturing. After school, I entered the former Glove Industry of Dobříš. Since then, I have devoted myself intensively to this beautiful craft. I've learned the complete glove-making system, and over the last ten years I've worked in various management positions at several glove companies.
When another company finished in Dobříš in 2019, and with it the production of gloves in Dobříš, I felt that one stage of the history of this craft was closing. Shifts of production to "cheaper" countries cannot be prevented, but I felt the need to continue traditional glove-making. And so came the crazy idea of building on the work of my predecessors in his own workshop. However, with less production, with an even greater emphasis on quality materials, perfect preparation and technological consistency. I bought machines, rented a workshop in the former area of the Glove industry Dobříš, bought materials, made websites, wrote scripts... And I started a company called Moje Rukavice, which organizes courses where interested parties can get all the necessary information and knowledge of procedures. For what? To make their own unique gloves right in the glove shop. And now I invite you to be a part of it.
How's the course going to be structured?
• Participants select hand-designed, embroidered and tailored leather glove style of their choice.
• Depending on the selection available on my site www.mojerukavice.cz , you choose the leather colour, the type of lining and measure your hand depending on whether you are right-handed or left-handed.
• You choose the type of gloves, or perforation, cross-sections, embroidery, elongation, buttons or decorations – all according to imagination, style and personal taste.
• During the course you will also learn about the history of glove making, materials used and working with them. Recommendations on the maintenance and treatment of gloves are an integral part.
• We can also include the production of a simple pendant, talisman, bracelet or backpack or handbag ornament. We can use a professional Big Shot cutting plotter for everything.
Who is the course for?
The course is designed for all those who like original handmade products and are willing to "to pull ones weight". Arrange with your friends, colleagues from work or school. Sewing your own gloves is addictive, and you may be surprised to see who in your neighborhood falls completely for this hobby.
Introductory course or With care of each glove
In this course you will learn the basics of the technological process of making gloves. Since it takes time to make gloves, I do the pre-preparation of the material before the meeting itself. Before starting the course, send me your hand measurements, selected color shade and glove type. We spend a pleasant six or seven hours together, taking into account the complexity of the decorations. The courses are for a limited number of 4-8 participants, so that we can dedicate ourselves in detail to each of your works. Exchange rate (2450 CZK / person) includes a creative set. This consists of a cut of the chosen type of glove, a sewing set (triangular needle, cotton, ornaments), lining and a complete description of the technological process of making gloves. You don't have to go anywhere for this course, I'll bring it right to you.
Course for Advanced or Course of Cutting and Sewing Gloves
Want to get to an even higher level? Sign up for a full-day training course on cutting and sewing gloves right in the glove shop. It is an intensive training and is therefore intended for a maximum of two clients. We start at eight in the morning and we don't finish before six in the evening. And we spend all that time in the most wonderful creative way. You will penetrate the secrets of this trade as few will. The price of the all-day course (5625 CZK / person) includes complete material to make one pair of gloves of your choice. Experiments are allowed here. There will be material, i.e. leather and lining, for possible testing before the actual production, enough decorations and of course all the equipment of the workshop. You can feel everything, literally, so try all the machines and preparations for production. And for subsequent studies at home you get script gloves.
If you do not dare to take a comprehensive course, including cutting, you can choose a variant of partial production of gloves, where your glove is already cut. The price of this course is CZK 4,500 / person.
Every woman's and man's hands are more beautiful if they're wrapped in beautiful gloves. Come and make your own, original ones, which will underline your character, and at the same time support the wonderful craftsmanship that glove-making undoubtedly is.

Applications for the ‘Make your gloves’ course can be submitted by all interested parties by paying a deposit of CZK 3000, which is payable within 5 days of the confirmation of the order from the course operator no later than 5 days before the course, the form of payment will be communicated in subsequent email communication. We continue to abide by the terms of trade. After paying the deposit, you will receive study materials, a glove-making tutorial.

It is also possible to buy semi-finished products for own production of gloves, or small leather haberdashery, various leathers, fabrics, ornaments, linings and everything associated with it from my workshop and e-shop.
In addition to the workshop, it is possible to retrain as part of a lecturing activity supported by EU funds.

I offer teaching or lectures in schools and all other institutes that show interest in this craft. I am ready to travel and teach, wherever there is serious interest in the craft, whether in schools or private companies, to train and train workers in the field of glove sewing and glove maker.
Shared workshopAsk for a shared workshop
Ask for a shared workshop in Dobříš so-called. "Shared Workshops" can take ideas for creating, producing or repairing things into your own hands. All necessary equipment can be tested and borrowed in the workshop. And of course, I'm happy to help you with everything and advise you.
How it works in my workshop adapted to make gloves and textiles.
In the workshop you can try working on all available machines, which are designed for making gloves and smaller leather products, working with textiles and other materials for this production.
For larger projects you need to bring your own material, but otherwise you can use cuttings of leather, pieces of textiles and various small accessories for production (rubbers, ribbons, buttons, ports, thread straps, cotton, various applications).
There is a large worktable in the workshop, it is possible to put one more in the space in the middle. In my workshop there is a possibility to heat your food, make coffee or tea, available fridge, toilet, etc. Machinery workshops are glove machines stucco, varnish, given uniform, double-breasted, machine sewing textile with cropping (lining, lycra). For textile production there is a straight Minerva machine, Yuki, Rimoldi 3 thread overlock with cropping, coverlock double Kansai, and shoulder Minerva. Machine to sew rubber, and embroidery on the skin, straight sewing. There are also basic fasteners, adhesives, a blowtorch, an ironing table for gloves. An integral part of the workshop is a hand press for stamping and a section of small ornaments controlled by a lever.
There are many possibilities for your “goofing around” or professional ideas. Do not hesitate to look into the magic of working with leather or textiles.
